I have arranged for Gillie to have his Arthramid injection at my own vets (Arun Westergate) on Tuesday 13th March. The cost is going to be just shy of £600 for one elbow, which includes the cost of the Arthramid and a GA. The procedure will be done under GA rather than sedation, which gives me peace of mind for this first time.
I am only having his right elbow done. Although the comparison CT scan showed minor changes in his left elbow it has never given me any cause for concern and he has never shown any pain in it. I think to do a pre-emptive medication of the joint at the same time as his right leg might cause big issues if he does happen to have a reaction to the medication and I am a believer in 'if it ain't broke don't fix it!'
